1. Connection Instructions for Disaster Recovery
Due to not having functioning systems within the Christchurch office, Knight Frank IT has provided Christchurch users with a way to log on to the system remotely. This currently will provide the following
- Support for up to 50 Users
- Access from anywhere there is an Internet connection
- Full access to all files and drives
- Full access to e-mail, contacts and calendars
- Software available
o Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
o Microsoft Outlook
o Adobe Reader
o doPDF for PDF creation
o RealNZ
o QuickMap
o Land on Line
To access the system, please follow these steps.
- In Internet Explorer, go to https://vpn.knightfrank.com.au
- You will be prompted to accept the certificate, as shown below. Please select yes or continue (depending on browser version)
- At the login prompt, please enter your network username (First letter of firstname and full last name, ie John Smith’s username would be jsmith) and your password. This is what you use to login to your computers in the morning. Click sign-in.

- You will be presented with a screen which contains the below button. Please click “Start”.

- If this is the first time you have logged in to the VPN, you will be prompted to install some software, please click Yes or Continue or Run to all of these prompts.

- After the software installation has completed, the box below will appear. This may take up to 5 minutes to complete and will disappear once completed.

- Come back to this page and click on the below icon. When prompted to save or open, click open.

- A screen like below will appear (this may differ slightly based on Windows version). Click “Connect”

- A screen will appear displaying Windows 2008 R2 and a login prompt.
Enter in your network username and password in the following format;
Username: NZ\username
Password: password
Press enter or click the forward arrow to login to the system

- Work as per normal, using the available software and files.
